Singapore

We  believe in targeting our prayers, people perish because of a lack of knowledge.  The information we provide has been researched through different sources,  and is to be used for the purpose of informed intercession.  We will use natural, practicle tools to arm ourselves with more to fight our spiritual emenies.  Jesus told us to be specific in our asking, praying and requesting.  Use the resources here, along with other sources, to improve your result in praying for the nations.

The English name of Singapore is derived from its Malay name, Singapura (Sanskrit सिंहपुर "Lion City"), thus the customary reference to the nation as the Lion City. Studies indicate that lions probably never lived on the island; the beast seen by Sang Nila Utama, founder of ancient Singapore, who gave the city its name, was most likely a tiger.

Singapore consists of 63 islands, including mainland Singapore. The main island is widely known as Singapore Island but is officially called Pulau Ujong (Malay: transliterated as island at land's end [of the peninsula]).

Pray for the people in Singapore to improve their means to use natural resources and that their financial  stability improves.

Singapore has on-going land reclamation projects with earth obtained from its own hills, the seabed, and neighbouring countries. As a result, Singapore's land area grew from 581.5 km2 (224.5 sq mi) in the 1960s to 704 km2 (271.8 sq mi) today, and may grow by another 100 km2 (38.6 sq mi) by 2030. The projects sometimes involve some of the smaller islands being merged together through land reclamation in order to form larger, more functional islands, as in the case of Jurong Island.
Singapore Botanic Gardens, a 67.3-hectare (166-acre) botanical garden in Singapore that includes the National Orchid Garden, with more than 3,000 species of orchids
Under the Köppen climate classification system, Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons, uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity, and abundant rainfall.  season. From August to October, there is often haze, sometimes severe enough to prompt public health warnings, due to bush fires in neighbouring Indonesia. Singapore does not observe daylight saving time or a summer time zone change. The length of the day is nearly constant year round due to the country's position near the equator.  About 23% of Singapore's land area consists of forest and nature reserves.   Urbanisation has eliminated most of the former primary rainforest, with Bukit Timah Nature Reserve the only significant remaining forest.

Buddhism is the most widely-practiced religion in Singapore, with 33% of the resident population declaring themselves adherents at the most recent census.  The next largest religions, in order of size, are Christianity, Islam, Taoism and Hinduism. The proportion of Christians increased between 2000 and 2010, from 15% of the population to 18%, while the proportion of Buddhists decreased. Other faiths remained largely stable in their share of the population.
There are monasteries and Dharma centres from all three major traditions of Buddhism in Singapore: Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana. Most Buddhists in Singapore are Chinese and are of the Mahayana tradition.
Chinese Mahayana is the most predominant form of Buddhism in Singapore with missionaries from Taiwan and China for several decades. However, Thailand's Theravada Buddhism has seen growing popularity amongst the people (not only the Chinese) in the past decade. Soka Gakkai International, a Japanese Buddhist organisation, is practised by many people in Singapore, but by mostly those of Chinese descent. Tibetan Buddhism is also making a slow inroad into the country in recent years.

Pray for the hearts and minds of the people of Singapore are open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Pray the power of the Holy Spirit would fill all the Christians to improve their witness.  Pray that Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance will be the fruit of the work in Singapore.  Father touch the churches in Singapore, fill and empower the harvest workers who are spreading the Gospel to the people there.  Their eyes would be flooded with light and all lies and false teachung about God and His Kingdom would be destroyed.  Reveal Truth, Reveal JESUS, Reveal SALVATION,   IN JESUS NAME  AMEN!

Last week, I was going through the Prayer International Mailbox and found a prayer request for one of our dear brothers in Singapore named Raj. This is the email:

Early morning at 8am 26th Dec in my sleep suddenly I got breathless with nausea and tighness in chest and my heart was beating fast and accompanied by flu and fever. I rushed to hospital. They scanned my heart with ecg and found heart rate high. But my ekg found heart is normal and lungs xray were normal. I was later diagnosed bronchial asthma by a clinic. We prayed, my pastor from St pauls in Singapore also prayed. But till now I have the breathlessness and chest tighness with left chest and arm pains. I have fear to sleep at night as at times I wake up not able to breath. I am also very fearful and worried about my sudden change of health. I have no medical history of
heart or lungs problem. I could not concentrate in my life and be happy with my newborn daughter the lord gave me. My wife, mom-in-law, grandma in law are christians and are praying for me but in fear as they also feel this could be spiritual attack. I would kindly like to request for prayers for my health. Thank You very much.

We are believing that Raj will live and be strengthened in the Name of Jesus. He will raise his children in the fear of the Lord and fulfill the purposes of God for his family. The Kingdom of God come and the Will of  God be done.  Please keep him in prayer, as the Lord would lead you.
We will send updated reports as we are informed.
